Aerial yoga is great for :

  • Fitness Enthusiasts as it offers a full-body workout, helping to build core strength, flexibility, and improve posture.
  • People with Back Issuespeople with mild to moderate back problems may benefit from the spinal decompression and inversion in aerial yoga, which can relieve pressure on the spine.
  • Stress Relief Seekers:The feeling of being weightless and the meditative aspect of the practice can promote relaxation and reduce stress.
  • People Seeking Low-Impact Exercise: Aerial yoga is gentle on the joints, making it a low-impact workout suitable for those looking to avoid high-stress exercises.

1. People with Certain Health Conditions: Individuals with heart disease, glaucoma, high blood pressure, or vertigo may need to avoid aerial yoga due to the inversions and strain on the body.

2. Pregnant Women: While some prenatal yoga practices may include aerial yoga, inversions and certain poses could be risky. It’s essential to consult a doctor before trying aerial yoga during pregnancy.

3. People with Balance or Inner Ear Problems: The floating nature of aerial yoga may exacerbate balance or dizziness issues.

4. Those with Severe Back or Neck Injuries: Though some may find relief, those with serious injuries should consult a healthcare professional before attempting aerial yoga, as inversions and unsupported poses could worsen their condition.

For aerial yoga classes:-

1. Form-Fitting, Stretchable Clothes: Wear clothes that are snug but flexible, like leggings and a fitted top. Loose clothes can get tangled in the hammock, making movements difficult or unsafe.

2. Full-Length Leggings: Covering your legs can help prevent friction burns from the hammock fabric, providing better grip and protection.

3. Fitted, Long-Sleeve or Short-Sleeve Top: A fitted top that covers your armpits is ideal. It prevents friction burns and offers extra coverage while inverted or when using the hammock.

4.No Zippers or Buttons: Avoid clothing with zippers, buttons, or other accessories that could catch on the fabric or damage the hammock.

5. Bare Feet: Practicing aerial yoga without shoes or socks helps you maintain grip and balance during poses. Some people prefer yoga socks with grip if they want extra stability.
